Ganderbal, July 28: At least 31 pilgrims were injured on Tuesday after an Amarnath Yatra bus skidded off the road and plunged near the S-Mode stretch in the Hariganiwan area of Kangan, Ganderbal district.
According to officials, the ill-fated vehicle (registration No. AR11D/5655) lost control at the notoriously treacherous S-Mode curve in the Gund area.
Rescue and Medical Response
A swift, joint rescue operation was immediately launched at the site by:
- Troops of the CRPF 118th Battalion
- ITBP personnel
- Local health department employees
- Civil Police, led by the SHO of Gund
Patient Status
All 31 injured Yatris were initially rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for emergency care and have since been referred to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar for advanced medical treatment.
