NEW DELHI | March 17, 2026: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has issued a final call for applications for the 2026–27 academic session. The deadline for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs is fast approaching, with the portal set to close on March 25, 2026.
Strategic Academic Expansion
Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, the university has introduced 30 new programs this year. This expansion spans diverse fields, from cutting-edge technology to specialized linguistic studies. Key additions include:
- Technology & AI: B.Tech. in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, and P.G. Diploma in Computational Design & AI in Architecture.
- NEP-Aligned Sciences: M.Sc. programs in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, and Biophysics.
- Languages & Humanities: B.A. (Hons) in Japanese, German, and Uzbek Studies.
- Professional & Vocational: Master of Hotel Management and B.Voc. in Molecular Diagnostics.
Key Admissions Highlights
- No Fee Hike: In a student-friendly move, JMI has confirmed there will be no increase in course fees across any programs for the 2026–27 session.
- FYUP & Multiple Entry: Aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, JMI is implementing the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP), providing students with unprecedented academic flexibility.
- Expanded Test Centers: To facilitate national reach, three new entrance centers—Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj—have been added, bringing the total to 11 cities across India.
International Outreach
In support of the Government of India’s internationalization goals, JMI has substantially reduced fees for foreign students. A new region-wise differential fee structure has been introduced specifically for students from SAARC, West Asian, African, and Latin American nations.
