Initiates process for establishment of Shoe racks under CCTV surveillance at all places
Srinagar, Jun 10: In yet another reformative initiative, Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi has issued orders to ban entry of Footwear into Praying areas of Waqf Controlled Mosques & Shrines.
The order issued in this regard reads that the devotees/worshippers are often seen praying in the vicinity of the footwear they carry along, that not only creates unhygienic conditions, but also breaches the sacrosanctity of the religious places.
The Engineering Wing & the other staff have been accordingly directed to put in place necessary arrangements for safe custody of footwear outside the praying areas by installation of Shoe racks under CCTV Surveillance. After the necessary arrangements are put in place, Shrine & Mosque Administrators have been directed to immediately impose the ban on entry of footwear into praying areas.
Pertinently, the ban shall come immediately into force wherever adequate Shoe racks under CCTV Surveillance are already available.
