Security forces in Kupwara’s Keran sector successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt on September 28, killing two terrorists near Hyder post. Search operation ongoing.
Srinagar, September 28: Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday morning, killing two terrorists in the Keran sector.
According to a senior police officer, the incident took place near the Hyder post when troops detected movement of a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate into the Indian side. The security forces immediately challenged them, leading to a brief gunfight in which two terrorists were neutralized.
The identity and group affiliation of the slain terrorists are yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, a large-scale search operation was continuing in the area at the time of filing this report. Further details are awaited.
