New Delhi, August 6, 2025: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is delighted to announce a significant achievement by its students at the Anvesha 2.0, a nationwide quiz competition on official statistics, organized by the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoS&PI), Government of India.
Yasir Abdullah and Md Nishad, members of the Quiz Club, JMI, officially represented the university and secured First Place in the prestigious competition held to commemorate 75 years of the National Sample Survey.
The contest saw enthusiastic participation from teams across Delhi and other regions; however, the JMI team stood out with their exceptional knowledge and quick thinking. The winners were awarded certificates, a trophy, and a cash prize of ₹10,000, and were felicitated by Smt. Geeta Singh Rathore, Director General of NSO.
Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JMI, and Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI, have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Yasir and Nishad on their remarkable success, terming their achievement as a moment of immense pride for the university. Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Dean Students’ Welfare, and Prof. Muslim Khan, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, have also conveyed their warm felicitations on this noteworthy accomplishment.
This achievement was realized through the guidance and mentorship of Prof. Mohd. Kamalun Nabi, the Coordinator of the Quiz Club at JMI. He has also extended his congratulations to the team, recognizing their steadfast commitment and admirable efforts that contributed to this success.
The victory underscores the academic excellence and competitive spirit fostered at Jamia Millia Islamia.
