Srinagar, June 29: Daily Covid-19 cases continued an upward trend in Jammu and Kashmir as 73 new infections were added up to the tally in the last 24 hours while the death toll remained at 4756 with no fatality due to the virus during the time, officials said on Wednesday.
According to them, the Jammu division reported 52 instances, while the Kashmir division reported 21, bringing the total to 455006 altogether.
Giving district-specific information, Jammu reported 44 cases, Srinagar 19, Kathua 4, Rajouri 2, Poonch 1, Budgam 1, and Bandipora 0.
Among the total cases, 166996 are from Jammu division and 288010 from Kashmir.
They claimed that no deaths attributable to the infection were documented in the previous 24 hours. 4756 people have died from the virus thus far, including 2331 in Jammu and 2425 in Kashmir.
They added that 31 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the previous 24 hours, 21 of them were from the Jammu division and 10 from the Kashmir Valley. The number of recovered patients currently stands at 449803, with 316 cases in Jammu and 131 cases in Kashmir.
According to the officials, no new verified cases of mucormycosis (the black fungus) have been reported today. The officials reported that 51 black fungus cases have so far been identified in J&K. Additionally, they stated that 9507 doses of the COVID-19 vaccination were provided in J&K at the time.
