According to India Today, a 32-year-old man in Chennai ingested gems worth INR 145,000 along with food during a friend’s Eid Milan party.
Doctors had to give the man an enema to recover the jewels in his stomach.
The party’s host, a jewellery store employee, had invited his friends over to celebrate Eid.
While eating biryani, one of the visitors, a friend’s boyfriend, swallowed jewellery. According to the authorities, the man was inebriated at the time of the incident.
After the guests had left, the host found that some of the jewellery pieces, including a diamond necklace and a diamond pendant, were missing.
The host suspected the friend and reported him to the police station in Virugambakkam.
He confessed right away when questioned by the cops.
After administering an enema to the man, doctors were able to recover the gems.
