Srinagar, November 14: Police on Friday said they have attached a residential house along with four marlas of land, falling under Survey No. 4008, belonging to Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League member Mohd Yaqoob Sheikh, son of Abdul Salam Sheikh, a resident of Namblabal Pampore. Sheikh is currently residing in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
According to police, the attachment was carried out on the directions of the Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Pulwama (Special Designated Court under NIA Act).
A police handout said the action is linked to FIR No. 24/2024 registered at Police Station Pampore under Sections 121 and 121A of the IPC and Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Officials said the attachment was undertaken after due legal approval and forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle secessionist networks and curb activities threatening national security.
The Awantipora Police reiterated their commitment to taking firm action against individuals and organizations engaged in activities detrimental to the sovereignty, integrity, and peace of the region.
