Chishty of Ajmer Sharif receives Global Peace Ambassador Award; KP Group’s Patel earns Sustainable Energy Leadership nod at event themed ‘Bridging East and West for Peace, Policy & Prosperity’

New Delhi, May 7, 2026: The BRICS International Investment Forum 2026 (BIIF 2026) spotlighted spiritual diplomacy and green energy innovation by honoring two Indian leaders: Haji Syed Salman Chishty, 26th-generation custodian of Dargah Ajmer Sharif, and Faruk G. Patel, chairman of KP Group.

Chishty received the BRICS Global Peace Ambassador Award 2026 for his work in spiritual diplomacy, interfaith engagement, and humanitarian service across more than 75 countries. He has represented India’s spiritual heritage at the United Nations, G20 summits, ASEAN forums, and universities like Harvard and Princeton, blending Sufi ethics with efforts to counter extremism and foster trust in conflict zones.

“The Indic spiritual tradition teaches that true civilizational bridges are built on trust, spiritual solidarity, and human dignity—not trade alone,” Chishty said at the forum.

Patel was awarded the BRICS Sustainable Energy Leadership Award 2026 for pioneering solar, wind, battery storage, and hydrogen solutions to reduce India’s fossil fuel reliance. His efforts align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push for energy security and BRICS-led people-centric development.

The New Delhi event drew global business leaders, officials, and thinkers under the theme “Strategic Dialogue Bridging East and West for Peace, Policy & Prosperity.” BRICS, representing 40% of the world’s population and 39% of global GDP, emerged as more than an economic bloc, emphasizing cultural ties and innovation.

Key speakers included Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu, founder chancellor of Chandigarh University and Rajya Sabha MP, who stressed education and youth empowerment; former External Affairs Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, who called for “practical ground-realities” over “armchair expertise”; and former NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar, who urged innovation for humanity.

The forum also recognized Dr. Sufi M.K. Chishty of Surat with the BRICS Global Leadership & National Integration Award 2026. Attendees featured executives like Huzaifa Khorakiwala (Wockhardt), Raunak Banerji (Poonawalla Group), Alex Zagrebelny (Eywa Real Estate, UAE), and others from UAE, Bhutani Group, and beyond.
