New Delhi, October 15, 2025: Mo Luckman Ali, a wrestler and proud alumnus as well as staff member of the Games & Sports Department at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has earned a remarkable fifth-place finish at the 7th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports & Koshti Pahlavani Championship 2025, held in Urumieh, Iran, from October 8 to 11. The prestigious event saw participation from athletes representing 20 countries across Asia.
Ali, who holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Hindi and an M.A. in Social Work from JMI, has consistently represented the university at state, national, and international wrestling events, securing several medals throughout his sporting career.

Congratulating him on his achievement, Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of JMI, lauded Ali’s dedication and hard work, saying that his success has once again brought glory to the university on the international stage.
Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar of JMI, also commended Ali for his outstanding performance in Iran and extended best wishes for his continued success in future tournaments.

Meanwhile, Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Honorary Director of Games and Sports at JMI, appreciated Ali’s perseverance and commitment, encouraging him to continue striving for excellence and further elevating the university’s reputation through his sporting accomplishments.
