New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President Syed Sadatullah Husaini has strongly condemned the ongoing US-Israel military strikes on Iran, urging restraint to prevent the Israel-US war with Iran from spiraling into a broader Gulf conflict.
In a media statement, Husaini called the attacks a “blatant violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and international law.” He highlighted massive civilian casualties and destruction, including a shocking airstrike in Minab, South Iran, that reportedly killed 165 schoolgirls at a school. “These strikes on innocent children shock humanity’s conscience and breach international humanitarian law,” he said, demanding UN accountability.
Husaini noted the strikes occurred amid reported diplomatic talks, undermining peace efforts. “This crisis reflects a dangerous trend of US-backed militarized interventions destabilizing the Middle East, endangering Iran and the entire Gulf region,” he added.
Urges Iran, Arab States to Avoid Wider War
Expressing alarm over spillover risks to Gulf neighbors, Husaini affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense but warned against actions drawing Arab states into conflict. “Prevent an Iran-Arab divide that could trigger humanitarian and economic disasters,” he urged. He called for wisdom, prudence, and diplomacy from all sides, pressing Arab nations to block use of their lands, airspace, or resources for aggression.
India Must Lead on Diplomacy, Says JIH Chief
Husaini pressed the Indian government to leverage its global stature for an immediate ceasefire. “India’s silence or alignment with aggressors harms its anti-imperialist legacy and strategic interests,” he stated. He wants India to condemn US-Israel actions, mobilize global efforts, and champion peace.
Global Call for Dialogue Over War
Husaini appealed to the world for swift action: halt escalation, enforce accountability, and restart talks. “Lasting Middle East stability demands dialogue, sovereignty respect, and justice—not more military coercion,” he concluded. JIH, he reiterated, opposes all aggression and imperialism, advocating diplomacy to spare the region another catastrophe.
