New Delhi, March 16, 2026: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Ph.D. scholar Munna Khalid clinched a silver medal in men’s doubles at the prestigious Yonex-Sunrise 7th Senior National Para Badminton Championship 2026, organized by the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
The high-stakes event unfolded at Heartfulness Gopichand Badminton Academy in Kanha Vanam Ashram, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, from March 6-10, 2026. In a thrilling final, Munna Khalid and partner Shashank Kumar fell short against Abu Hubaida and Prem Kumar Ale with close scores of 17-21, 18-21.
Munna Khalid’s Stellar Record: 10 International Medals for India
This silver adds to Munna’s impressive tally of 10 international medals – including 2 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze – proudly representing India on global stages. A true scholar-athlete, Munna is pursuing his Ph.D. in Hindi Literature at JMI, following his B.A. (Hons), MSW, and M.A. in Hindi from the same institution.
