Rajouri: Following a viral video that surfaced on social media showing a dangerous stunt on a moving vehicle, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri has taken strict action by suspending the Registration Certificate (RC) of the car involved.
Viral Video Triggers Official Action
The action follows a video clip posted on the social media page “Dainik Shiv Times Jammu” on August 28, 2026. The viral footage captures a woman performing a stunt on the bonnet of a light motor vehicle while it was actively plying along the National Highway.
Recognizing the severe risk posed by the act, authorities immediately launched an investigation into the vehicle’s details.
Details of the Suspension Order
According to an official order issued by the ARTO office, the suspended vehicle—a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) bearing registration number JK11B-8314—is registered under the name of Joni Kumar, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal (Jammu Central). The registration has been suspended with immediate effect.
The order emphasized that such reckless behavior constitutes a serious violation of traffic regulations and road safety norms, endangering the lives of the stunt performer, pedestrians, and other motorists on the highway.
Seven-Day Deadline Issued for Driver’s License
Highlighting that such dangerous acts directly violate the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the ARTO office has issued a stern notice to the vehicle owner.
The owner has been directed to submit the driving license of the person behind the wheel at the time of the incident within seven days for examination and further legal action. Failure to comply with the order within the stipulated timeframe will invite stricter penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act.
