Srinagar, Sept 6: Thousands of devotees congregated at the revered Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar on Friday night to offer night-long prayers on the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Officials and eyewitnesses said that following the pre-dawn prayers, devotees were blessed with the sight of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which holds immense spiritual significance. The relic will continue to be displayed after each of the remaining four prayers throughout the day, drawing large gatherings at the shrine.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is observed with great religious fervor across Jammu and Kashmir, the rest of India, and Muslim-majority regions across the globe. The day is a remembrance of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), whose exemplary character, compassion, and wisdom guide millions of believers.
Religious leaders on this occasion emphasize Islam’s universal messages of peace, empathy, and harmony. Special congregations are held where sermons shed light on the Prophet’s values, urging Muslims to foster unity within the community while also promoting mutual understanding and respect among people of diverse faiths.
