Srinagar, September 6: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) remained closed for vehicular movement on Saturday, while traffic continued to move normally through the Mughal Road.
An official told that only light motor vehicles (LMVs) are being allowed on the Mughal Road and the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road, as per the traffic advisory. However, the official confirmed that the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is still shut, with restoration work currently underway.
Travelers have been advised to avoid taking NH-44 until the clearance process is completed. Authorities also urged the public not to believe rumors and to check the latest road status updates on the Traffic Police’s official Twitter handle, Facebook page, and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
