Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police issued a public advisory on Tuesday ahead of August 5, cautioning citizens against participating in unauthorized gatherings following protest calls by several political groups and organizations.

According to a statement provided to GNS, police authorities have implemented robust security measures across the Kashmir Valley to preserve law, order, and public safety.

Officials emphasized that all forms of public gatherings—including protests, rallies, processions, and demonstrations—are strictly prohibited without prior authorization from competent authorities. The police warned that any breach of these regulations will face strict legal enforcement.

Appealing for public cooperation, law enforcement urged residents to help maintain peace and communal harmony. Citizens were also advised to refrain from sharing unverified news or rumors and to report any suspicious behavior immediately to local police stations.
