Six pistols, ammunition besides material โused in making IEDsโ was recovered from Jhang area of Ramgarh in Samba district, police said on Sunday.
โOn 14-02-2021, a Police party led by SHO PS Ramgarh during patrol in Jhang area near Rakh Jhang nallah found some suspicious material in the form of two packets hidden in bushes along with some small wooden structures and strings,โ police said in a statement to GNS.
โOn examination one packet was found containing five Pistols, 10 Magazines and 149 live bullets of pistol, some filled in magazines and some wrapped in polythene while 2nd packet contained a pistol, two magazines filled with 30 live bullets of pistol and 15 white boxes containing Material likely used in IED Makingโ.
In all, the police said, six pistols, 12 magazines, 179 Live pistol rounds, 15 white bottles containing IED making material was recovered along with wooden structures, packing material and strings.
โThis suggests that some unknown anti-national elements have dumped this material acquired illegally through some medium to carry out (militant) acts and to cause damage to life and property,โ police said, adding, โBy the recovery, the designs of anti national elements have been foiled and major sabotage has been averted.โ
In this regard, police said, a case (FIR NO 07/2021) under section 122 Indian Penal Code, Sections 16(1) b ,18 Unlawful activities prevention act ,section 04 explosive substance act and 3/25 Indian Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Ramgarh and investigation set into motion.
