Srinagar(GNS): A Kashmir migrant employee was shot dead inside his office by militants in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.
According to GNS, the gunmen opened fire at Chadoora this afternoon on a migrant worker identified as Rahul Bhat, who worked in the local Tehsil office. He was immediately transferred to Chadoora Sub District Hospital, from there he was transferred to SMHS Hospital for expert treatment.
“The injured was immediately sent to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries,” the officer said, adding, “Preliminary investigation suggests that 02 (militants) were engaged in this horrific crime and have utilised pistol to accomplish this murder.”
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke out against the murder.
“I strongly condemn (militants’) barbarous killing of Rahul Bhat in Budgam. “Those responsible for this heinous attack will not go unpunished,” he wrote in a tweet. “In this hour of mourning, the J&K Government stands in solidarity with the grieving family.”
Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, and Omar Abdullah, the party’s vice president, both denounced the death.
“Rahul was a government employee who was attacked while working at the Tehsil office in Chadoora. Targeted assassinations continue, and terror spreads unabated. My deepest sympathies to Rahul’s family. Omar tweeted, “RIP.”
