Date:

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed worry today over the unplanned power outages, which are causing a lot of challenges for the people during Ramazan.

“We have never seen such severe and frequent cuts throughout the holy month, especially during Sehri and Iftaar,” the traders’ body told GNS.

“KCC&I urges the administration and the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people in the Valley during the Sehri and Iftaar hours,” it said, adding, “In the past, Governments and administrations have tried to facilitate the people during Ramazan, but the harrowing experiences that are unfolding in this holy month of Ramazan.”

The patients, who are on oxygen assistance at home, struggled throughout, according to the report.

“As Shab-e-Qadar approaches, KPDCL should ensure enough electricity supply throughout Jammu and Kashmir,” the KCC&I urged, hoping that the administration will provide electricity at least for the next ten days of the holy month.

Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad President KCC&I appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene, so that the people will get uninterrupted electricity.
