JMI’s Malaviya Mission Centre Concludes 39th NEP Orientation Programme

New Delhi, October 16, 2025: The Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) successfully completed its 39th eight-day online NEP Orientation and Sensitization Programme, held from October 6 to 14, 2025. The event engaged 137 faculty members and research scholars from 18 states and 15 disciplines representing diverse universities across India.

Prof. Kulwinder Kaur, Honorary Director, MMTTC, highlighted NEP 2020’s vision for a holistic, skill-based, and lifelong learning framework. The programme, coordinated by Prof. Mohd. Kamalun Nabi, featured expert sessions that blended policy insights with practical innovations in teaching and research.

Prof. Hrushikesh Senapati, Former Director, NCERT, inaugurated discussions with a talk on Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education, urging a shift from rote learning to critical and creative thinking. Sessions by Prof. Bibhu P. Sahoo (DU) and Prof. M. Badrul Alam (JMI) focused on ethical research practices and the transition From Policy to Practice. Prof. Mansaf Alam introduced technology-enabled learning under AI-based ICT Applications in Teaching & Research.

Speakers including Prof. Sajid Jamal (AMU), Prof. Naushadul Haque Mallik (JMI), and Prof. Sunita Tanwar (CU Haryana) emphasized Indian Knowledge SystemsIndustry-Academia Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship through Skill Development. Prof. Mohammad Khalid Azam (AMU) discussed Inclusive Education, promoting equity and diversity in learning spaces.

Distinguished academicians such as Prof. Chandra Bhushan Sharma (Vinoba Bhave University) and Prof. Sudarshan Mishra (Ravenshaw University) reflected on NEP’s impact on higher education and social progress. Sessions by Prof. Archana Kaushik (DU) and Prof. Parvaiz Talib (AMU) highlighted emotional intelligence and academic leadership as key drivers of institutional excellence.

The programme culminated with an assessment session where participants reaffirmed their commitment to NEP 2020’s goals. The initiative strengthened Jamia’s leadership in promoting quality teacher training and innovation-driven educational reform.
