New Delhi: A national convention on the topic ‘Strategies and Planning for Educational Renaissance” was organized by EmpowerIndia Trust (Regd.) at India Islamic Cultural Center on Saturday evening.
The Founder Trustee and Chairman of EmpowerIndia, Mohammed Khalid Khan highlighted the importance of Education, as it elevates, develops, upgrades, makes enlightened and enable us to fight for the rights, fight for honour, fight for survival. According to him lack of education makes vulnerable and defenseless, endangers honour and survival. India is not amongst top 10 most educated countries in the world, which is an area of concern, so far as world ranking is below the comity of nations. In this regard to empower the community and county as a whole, we all need to rearrange our priorities.”
EmpowerIndia Trust has started its pilot project, vocational training Centre, offering various vocational paramedical courses viz Diploma in Hospital, Nursing and Midwifery, Diploma in Medical Lab Technology, Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology, Diploma in Radiology and Imaging Technology, Diploma in Physiotherapy, Diploma in Electrocardiogram and Diploma in Emergency Treatment are going on. The EIT would endeavor to establish Law College of excellence.
The conference was Chaired by Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, Chairman of Zakat Foundation of India, who stressed to utilize the existing scheme of the States Government and Central Government, as a large number of students are ignorant of such beneficial scheme available in the public domain. Due to lack of dissemination of the information, such actual benefits are not being drawn by the students. Therefore, it is imperative to make the students aware about such scheme and proper counselling and information sharing is required.
Prof. Rehan Khan Suri, Director Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training and Placement Officer, Jamia Millia Islamia and former Pro Vice-Chancellor, DSEU stated that ‘The education is not a charity, it is a responsibility. Therefore, everyone shall take it in that spirit. He emphasized to the benefit of the Right to Education Act, 2009, which envisages free and compulsory education for children between 6-14 years. He stated that currently the educational level of the minority is less than 6%, where major focus is required to achieve the larger goal, for which focused collaboration, identification and support of the organisations at the district level has to be carried out.
Mr Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, former Deputy Speaker, Exile Govt. of Tibet, highlighted that learning environment starts from home from great mother, where blend of classical and modern holistic education, can bring sense of kindness and enlightenment in the Children, to make them good human being.
Dr Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi, Senior Advisor, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, expressed his view that an educated person is being honoured throughout the world, and well said, a pen is mightier than the sword.
Dr. MM Ansari, a renowned scholar and former interlocutor of J&K, expressed his concern regarding education to the Muslim community, as they are lacking 10 years of the national average, the Muslim minority shall have a level playing field to acquire higher education. Further, dropout ratio in higher education is quite high, since the higher education is quite expensive and hard to sustain. Therefore, low-cost affordable education, teachers training program and collaborative approach is required.
Mr. Mohammad Talha Hanfi, Group Chairman- FuGen Group of Companies from Allahabad, has highlighted that the core issues are required to be identified and addressed at the grassroot level, for the under privileged class, there is a need of capacity building for ultimate success. He expressed his vision and the process of converting beneficiaries to benefactors, the profit earned by way of the projects in the IT sector, the donations raised by the benefactors is utilized to sustain and import capacity-based education to the needy students.
Prof. Dr. Vipin Kumar Tripathi, Professor from IIT and a renowned Gandhian, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Baliyawi, a renowned Scholar and Senior Leader, JDU and ex-Member of Parliament, Ms. Sameen Adeeb, a renowned Social Activist and Educationist, Advocate ZK Faizan, eminent scholar and practicing advocate at Supreme Court of India, Prof. Afroz ul Haq, Professor University of Imphal, Col. Syed Javed Mohammed Jaffrey, Advocate Fuzail Ayoobi, Mr. Mofas Saheb, Professor Kohli and Mohd. Naseem, Educational Activists, Mr. Badruddin Khan Barney, Director, Parliament Secretary, Prof. S. M. Ishtiyaq, a Senior Professor from IIT Delhi also addressed the gathering. Naushad Ahmed Khan, Advocate Supreme Court and Jt. Secretary, EmpowerIndia Trust delivered the vote of thanks.
