New Delhi, August 22, 2025: The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) successfully organized INNOVRITI-2025, a two-day flagship event held on 20th and 21st August 2025, celebrating World Entrepreneurs’ Day with a series of competitions, panel discussions, startup showcases, and interactive dialogues with industry leaders.
On 20 August 2025, the first day of the event, a high-impact workshop was conducted in collaboration with University Polytechnic and the NASSCOM Sector Skills Council. The session featured renowned speakers—Mr. Abhishek Rai, Founder of Maximalert Infotech Private Limited; Ms. Kamana (NASSCOM); and Mr. Mayank Gupta, Founder of TechPillow—who shared valuable insights with students and budding entrepreneurs.Mr. Abhishek delivered a thought-provoking session on cybersecurity, highlighting the growing need for digital vigilance and resilience in an interconnected world. Ms. Kamana introduced participants to the NASSCOM FutureSkills platform, showcasing a wide range of free, government-aligned, and industry-recognized courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and IoT. She emphasized that the courses are accessible to all learners and are designed to build future-ready skills through self-paced and instructor-led formats. Mr. Mayank Gupta inspired students by sharing practical strategies and personal experiences on building and managing enterprises, offering actionable insights to those seeking to launch their own startups.
This collaboration bridged academia and industry, ensuring students gained exposure to real-world entrepreneurial and digital skills.
As a central highlight of INNOVRITI-2025, the “Idea for Change” competition brought together more than 40 students from diverse disciplines who presented their innovative ideas aimed at driving social, digital, and business impact. Participants pitched their concepts to a panel of esteemed jurors, receiving constructive feedback and mentorship. The competition not only showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial acumen of Jamia’s students but also reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering a problem-solving and innovation-driven culture.

The valedictory session on Day 2, 21 August 2025, brought together innovators, students, and entrepreneurs for an inspiring celebration of creativity and enterprise. The session was graced by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, JMI, as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI, as the Guest of Honour.
Prof. Mazhar Asif commended the efforts of the students, saying, “World Entrepreneurs’ Day reminds us that innovation is the heartbeat of progress—and our students represent the spirit of a self-reliant and innovative India.” Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi remarked, “Jamia’s CIE is not just a space for ideas but a launchpad for future leaders and innovators.”

The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Simi Malhotra, Professor-in-Charge, CIE, who stated, “At CIE, we provide the ecosystem where ideas don’t just stay as thoughts but evolve into impactful realities.” An engaging Entrepreneurs’ Round Table, moderated by Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Director, CIE, created a platform for students to interact directly with industry leaders. Prof. Suri added, “When talent and mentorship meet, innovation thrives and ideas transform into enterprises.”
The Vice-Chancellor and Registrar also felicitated the winners and participants of the Idea for Change competition, as well as the Calendar 2025 team, which creatively documented the vibrant birdlife of Jamia Millia Islamia as per the Vice-Chancellor’s vision.
Some of the key highlights of the event included:Hands-on Skill Development with industry-driven workshop by NASSCOM to prepare students for the digital economy; Entrepreneurial Exposure with over 40 innovative pitches and extensive networking with industry leaders; Startup Expo and Talent Showcase—Incubated startups and skill-course students displayed products and innovations, earning appreciation from the dignitaries and Industry-Academia Synergy as the event strengthened collaboration between JMI and industry bodies to promote innovation and employability.
In addition to the above, with the theme “3D—Dream, Dare, Develop India,” INNOVRITI-2025 served as a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration, and inspiration, reaffirming Jamia Millia Islamia’s commitment to nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
