Poonch, May 7(M S Nazki): Thieves struck at four shops as well as a government school in Mendhar area of Poonch, decamping with cash and valuables, officials said on Tuesday.
They told that as the shopkeepers including Shokat Ali , Sanjay Kumar and Bansi Lal came this morning to open their shops situated in Saria market and bus stand respectively, they found shutters broken and allegedly cash and valuables stolen. While all three shopkeepers run provisional stores, another shop, belonging to Mohammad Tufail, and dealing with cold drinks etc was also found with broken shutter with valuables and cash allegedly missing. Also when staff of government primary school Nabna Jabrian Dharana reached for duty this morning, they found lock of the office room broken and Rs 2500 allegedly missing. Also, they said, the school record was destroyed. Beside this, they said, a vehicle (JK12C-7823) of one Sarfaraz Ahmad of Dharana, parked near school, was damaged apparently by the thieves.
When contacted, a police official told GNS that a case has been registered and investigation taken up.
