Srinagar, September 15 (Waris Shah): A teenage boy who sustained critical injuries in a landmine blast on Sunday near an army fencing area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district has died during treatment.
According to a senior police officer, the boy succumbed to his injuries this morning at the BB Cantt Army Hospital in Srinagar. He had suffered severe injuries after accidentally crossing into the army’s fenced zone in Khundroo.
The victim has been identified as Shahid Ahmad, son of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Lawloopora Larnoo. Shahid had crossed the army fence at 21 FAD Khundroo when he was caught in the mine explosion. He was first rushed to GMC Anantnag in a critical condition and later referred to the 92 Base Hospital for specialised treatment, where he could not survive.
