Srinagar, Jul 16: In order to review the Fire Safety arrangements for ongoing Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra-2023, Alok Kumar (ADGP), Director Fire & Emergency Service, Jammu & Kashmir had a two days extensive tour with effect from 15.07.2023 to all yatra base camps via Pahalgam Axis including Pantha Chowk, Mir Bazar, Nunwan, Mamal Helipad and Chandanwari base camps.
The Director, as per a statement issued to GNS, assessed all the arrangements put in place in each camp to ensure proper fire safety cover to the yatris. He also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and the preparedness of the Firemen deployed in these camps to meet any exigency and appreciated arrangements made by other stakeholders related to the Pilgrimage.
The Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K, while interacting with the officers & Firemen, emphasised the importance of holy yatra and impressed upon them to be more vigilant and alert for prompt and efficient response to every emergency call.
The Director was apprised by the respective camp Directors and officers from different security agencies about the various arrangements made for the safe and secure yatra. The camp Director of Nunwan base camp also apprised the Director about the promptness and quick response exhibited by the firemen of said base camp during a fire incident in the camp which was controlled at its initial stage by prompt response of firemen.
The ADGP was accompanied by the Command Officer, F&ES Anantnag and other officers of the department.
