Srinagar, March 09 : A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Reben village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 44 RR, 1st RR, CRPF and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation following specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the forces intensified the searches, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering off an encounter, they said.
“One militant has been killed and his body is lying near the encounter site amid exchange of fire”.
