Talks in Islamabad Doomed from Start
The conditions, put by US, during the ongoing negotiations for 21 hours, held between US and Iran, at Islamabad, Pakistan, were in fact the set by Israel. Talks were determined to be failed. They accordingly failed. Even as talks were underway, there were 12 US re-fuelling jets spotted at Ben Gurion Airport, tell MoneyControl. Moreover, a significant number of C-17s US Air Force Globemaster III aircrafts and Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker etc have landed at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. US VP JD Vance and Iran’s Speaker Muhammed Bagher Ghalibaf have returned.
Ceasefire Shattered Amid Israeli Pressure
The talks, after a ceasefire of two weeks announced by US President Donald Trump, on the ongoing war on Iran by Israel/US, since February 28, was blown to shreds. US had found 10 point put forward by Iran as workable, on April 8, despite the fact that Iran had rejected the 15-point offered by Trump on March 26. The prime reason for it, was Israel in the back, Israel had bombed ruthlessly Lebanon, killed more than a thousand, even after ceasefire had been announced. Israel has a history of ceasefire violations. There is a whole list to it enumerated by IMEU. JD Vance was straddled by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner-the son in laws of Donald Trump, both unabashedly real-estate developers.
Why Negotiations Collapsed
Why did the talks fail? They were bounded to fail. Initially US showed flexibility that it would unfreeze Iranian assets, Iran would show leniency over Strait of Hormuz, war compensation by US, sanctions to be eased on Iran, and next round of talks was to have been done, Iran was almost ready to not to contest presence of US military bases in Gulf nations. But, JD Vance made a carte blanche, he had too, as even as talks were underway, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu made a televised address that the war was ‘not over’ and that ‘we still have more to do’. He said that Israel would continue to attack Iran, Iran supported Hezbollah in Lebanon, Ansar-ul-Lah in Yemen etc. This made JD Vance sit-in-a-huddle as US cannot go astray without the dictates from Israel.
JD Vance then just wanted to extract Iran’s enriched Uranium. If Iran had to hand it over, Iran might have done long earlier, why would US make such an offer if not to scuttle the talks! No reference to Lebanon was to be made and that Iran should withdraw its blockade from Strait of Hormuz. Where was the ‘workability’ which Trump had announced! Iran has said it is not in any hurry. The war is now slated to begin again.
US Blockade Targets China and Russia
No sooner the talks failed, US announced that it would now block Straits of Hormuz, which would mean, that ships carrying crude-oil from Iran, towards which is seeking a ‘toll-fee’ of 2 million US Dollars, France and Britain have already started to pay, will not be allowed further, as US navy would block them. Obviously, this is to target China and Russia which have had a safe-sail-through via the 55 kms Straits of Hormuz controlled by Iran.
Iran had never blocked this key waterway, but in fact had levied a fee for the ships to pass through, to keep its economy afloat. Iran did not allow US or Israel ships to pass through. Iran has already laid down sea-mines, which according to military strategists, US will find very difficult to wean out. Once US is to gets its naval warships, into the area, which skeptics believe, Iran can target until 500 miles, Iran will therefore, then destroy all the oil infrastructure on the western coast of the Gulf, which may jeopardize oil supplies to US for a long time to come.
China’s Strong Warning to US
This will more surely enrage China. The immediate reaction to it has also come as China’s Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun’s has warned the US against imposing a blockade and cautioned it not to interfere in China’s bilateral relations with Iran. “We have trade and energy agreements with Iran; we expect others not to interfere in our affairs,” he said, adding that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for China. ‘The waterway is extremely crucial for Beijing as it supplies nearly 40 per cent of its oil and at least 30 per cent of its LNG needs,’ tell IndiaToday.
Risk of Wider War Looms
This so called ceasefire, which is set to last on April 22, is to see war to restart again, any moment, as US has started to mobilize warships to target Strait of Hormuz. Iran is likely to retaliate but this time around China is set to be pitted directly against US, a long desire of Israel, and this may set to trigger the larger war! China is now to officially come forward to defend against US, a strike on Iran from Israel or US or from Iran on Israel or US, supported by China, can happen from any time now. This is to plummet oil prices further, triggering a global panic in the oil market, as all the ships will be stranded, but imagine a scenario that US attacks a Chinese petroleum shipment? What is to ensue can be imagined.
Iran supported Yemen is also to make Bab al Mandeb, a vital 16–18 mile wide maritime chokepoint which connects Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean to get closed. This will further throw the whole economy into an off-balance. There are now reports that US war secretary Pete Hegseth is into discussions for opening of Indonesian airspace to target Iran, inform Reuters which has made Iran to state that if any port of Iran is attacked, no Gulf country port will remain safe. How long will US go to stretch this war, what if massive losses are incurred, it will potentially enter into war with nations other than China to have halted their life-lines, this all will of course make Israel to make US launch the final atomic bomb!
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Moscow Times has repeated his offer that Russia is ready to take Iran’s enriched Uranium, to end this war, but US insists to take it, and then to hand it over to Israel! Does not the world know that US has frozen 5 billions of dollars worth of Russian assets out of around 300 billion USD, frozen in Europe, which Europe wants to use into sponsoring the war of Ukraine against Russia.
