Jammu, November 11: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu achieved a major breakthrough by seizing around 500 grams of high-grade heroin and arresting an interstate drug smuggler during an operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
According to an official statement, the ANTF team, acting on reliable information and sustained surveillance, intercepted a suspect involved in drug trafficking. The accused was identified as Mohd. Parvez, son of Mohd. Shaheed, a resident of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi. A search of his possession led to the recovery of approximately 500 grams of heroin.
An FIR (No. 03/2025) under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu. Investigations have been launched to trace the backward and forward linkages of the interstate drug network.
Initial findings suggest that the arrested individual is part of a larger syndicate supplying narcotics from outside the Union Territory to local peddlers within Jammu and Kashmir. ANTF teams are working to identify other members of the network and establish the source and destination of the seized contraband.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and urged the public to share any information regarding drug-related activities to help make Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.
