IndiGo Flight Hits VDGS Pole While Parking at Srinagar Airport; All Passengers and Crew Safe

Srinagar: An IndiGo aircraft collided with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while parking at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning. All passengers and crew members aboard the flight escaped unhurt.

The incident occurred around 9:02 AM when IndiGo flight 6E 225 (aircraft registration VT-NOG), operating from Navi Mumbai, was being positioned at Bay No. 06. During the parking maneuver, the aircraft came into contact with the airport’s VDGS pole.

Airport authorities immediately initiated standard safety protocols. All passengers and crew members safely disembarked from the aircraft using manual stairs.

Appropriate aviation authorities are investigating the details and circumstances surrounding the incident to ascertain the exact cause. Officials emphasized that no conclusions regarding the cause have been drawn at this early stage.

Srinagar Airport operations continue to function normally, with all scheduled flight arrivals and departures proceeding without disruption.
