Srinagar, March 12: Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a hideout and recovered arms and ammunition in Hangnikoot area of North Kashmir’s Handwara.
According to a handout given to GNS by the police, Handwara Police searched Shalnar Hangnikoot on March 11, 2023. An old cache of weapons and ammunition was discovered during a search of the region. It contained one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 75 bullets, as well as 10 grenades, 26 Ubgl grenades, 8 UBGL boosters, 2 flame throwers, 5 rocket shells, and 3 rocket boosters.
According to a police spokeswoman, on the basis of this, FIR no. 19/2023 has been filed at Police Station Vilgam in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, and an investigation has been started.
