NEW DELHI: Representing a fusion of tradition and innovation, the Department of Architecture at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is currently showcasing its students’ work at Bharat Parv 2026. Held at the iconic Red Fort, this national exhibition is part of India’s 77th Republic Day celebrations and is curated by the Council of Architecture (CoA).
Bridging Heritage and Modern Construction
The JMI exhibit features a diverse range of projects that highlight the technical and creative prowess of its students:
- Building Construction & Structures: Detailed physical models created by B.Arch 4th-year students, demonstrating modern structural engineering.
- Bhimakali Temple Documentation: A comprehensive study by B.Arch 3rd-year students focusing on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and the intricate geometry of Indian Temple Architecture.
The display aligns with the national theme of honoring India’s rich architectural heritage while emphasizing sustainable development for the future built environment.
