Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Husaini Extends Eid-ul-Fitr Greetings, Stresses Quranic Message of Justice, Unity, and Peace

Date:

New Delhi, 20 March 2026: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) President Syed Sadatullah Husaini extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to Muslims across India and all fellow citizens.

In a statement to the media, he described Eid-ul-Fitr as “a celebration of the Quran—of its revelation, our bond with it, and our efforts to live by its teachings.” He emphasized gratitude for this divine guidance, quoting: “O mankind! There has come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the diseases in your hearts, and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy. O Prophet, say: In the bounty of Allah and in His Mercy, in that let them rejoice: that is better than the wealth they hoard” (Quran 10:57-58).

Husaini noted that Allah revealed the Holy Quran during Ramadan, designating the month as a training period for its teachings. Muslims recite the Quran extensively, perform long night prayers, and complete its recitation. Fasting builds piety, willpower, and self-restraint—essentials for applying Quranic principles. Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of this month-long spiritual training and a pledge to embody its lessons in daily life.

“While celebrating Eid, we must keep its philosophy and Ramadan’s lessons in mind,” the JIH President said. “Ramadan trains us in three dimensions: enduring hunger and thirst for Allah’s sake to foster devotion; controlling desires and emotions for inner strength; and through charity, sensitizing ourselves to others’ needs. Even on Eid, Sadaqah al-Fitr ensures no one is left out of the festivities.”

Husaini added that Eid-ul-Fitr arrives amid trials for the Muslim world, including devastating wars. “We salute the courage of those resisting oppression, tyranny, and colonialism on behalf of the weak and oppressed. We pray for Muslim Ummah unity, an end to tensions, and a new era of lasting peace. We also seek progress, prosperity, and peace for our country and its people.”

He extended greetings to people of all sects and faiths, urging: “Let us unite to foster peace, justice, and fairness in India, and work together to address our nation’s real challenges.”
