Srinagar, Nov 21: Continuing its drive to strengthen transparency and security in health institutions, Srinagar Police on Friday, in coordination with medical officers of the Health Department, conducted inspections of lockers used by doctors and other staff in district and private hospitals, medical colleges, PHCs and other health facilities in the city.
According to a police handout, the exercise is aimed at preventing any misuse of lockers for unauthorized storage of illegal or hazardous material and to bolster internal security within medical establishments.
Police said all racks and lockers were thoroughly checked, while staff members were reminded to keep proper records and to use lockers strictly for official purposes.
The authorities have reiterated that such inspections will continue to be carried out on a regular basis as part of routine vigilance to ensure a safe and secure environment in hospitals.
Srinagar Police, in its statement, reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of citizens and to maintaining overall security.
